But the boss at the I.S. wants Rachel dead for daring to leave and for taking his best runner with her. So now she’s under attack from all sides and the only way she can pay off the killers is to tag the most dangerous man in the city.
Personal Thoughts – I’ve read comments that the title turns readers off this book, but it shouldn’t. I was pleasantly surprised at the quality of writing for this story. The main character Rachel is a no nonsense witch, who’s up to her neck in trouble and has some interesting friends. She’s written with a wise cracking attitude, which I found very amusing. But she’s a strong enough character to take the reader through the plotline and the amount of trouble she gets into makes for a fast paced tale, with barely time to draw breath.
Jenk’s the Pixie was a fun character. He’s full of attitude, gets into mischief and his family problems gave him plenty of depth. I also enjoyed the rivalry between Pixie’s and Fairies, finding the author’s take on their character’s refreshing.
There is plenty of magic utilised in the story, nothing new, though interesting enough. The vampire angle is pretty much what’s been written in other novels and for me, Ivy and her associates weren’t the most interesting elements in this book. For me Rachel’s actions drive the plot and if you’re looking for a fun read then I don’t think this book will disappoint.
