Rachel is an independent bounty hunter and a witch, who lives with a none practicing vampire and a family of pixie’s. How much more interesting can life get.

Rachel’s keeps getting the hard runs, such as finding a were packs mascot – a fish – only to find it was never stolen in the first place. And when Trent’s secretary turns up at the FBI, to report her boyfriend missing, Rachel finds her run suddenly become ever more dangerous.

If that wasn’t enough, Ivy’s Uncle, the most powerful vampire in the city, takes a hand in Rachel’s life, so things can only get worse.

Personal Thoughts –

Rachel Morgan is trying to pay her rent, keep Ivy from feeding on her and try and avoid getting killed during her bounty hunting jobs.

When ley line witches start turning up butchered, Rachel gets called in to help the FIB. She soon suspects Trent is behind the killings, especially when Trent’s secretary reports her boyfriend is missing.

In her hunt for the killer, she ends up calling on the demon, that wants her soul, for help. And has to use ley line magic, something she’s reluctant to do.

However, during her investigation she get the opportunity to find out who sent the demon to kill her and gets involved in Vampire politics.

Throughout, the pace of the story is fast and interesting. I find Harrison has a talent for creating sharp characters, that pull you into her story. Jenk’s is still a lovely, rough pixie, who’s witty remarks help lighten the darker scenes in this book. And I enjoyed learning more about Ivy’s family ties and ancestry, which make the vampire angle far more interesting.

It’s difficult to tell readers more about this book without giving away too many twists in the plot. So I’ll not try. But will say don’t be put off by the title, it really is an entertaining and interesting read. This was definitely one of those books I couldn’t put down.
