I just wanted to drop a line about Novacon 38. At the Novacon site the Con is described as:
“Novacon is the UK’s longest-established regional science fiction convention, held every autumn since 1971. It’s built around a single-stream programme mixing both literary items and more informal events, with deliberate emphasis on social contact between sf fans and genre professionals.
Novacon38 will take place November 14th-16th at The Quality Hotel in Bentley (near Walsall) Not only do they list the usual Con activities but they also have Beer Tasting scheduled!
Now I mention this for a couple of reasons. One, Ian R. MacLeod is the guest of honor this year and that guy is a phenomenal writer (check out our exclusive excerpt of his latest, Song of Time). Second, allegedly I contributed to the programme (which should never – ever – to be confused with a program, which is for low class suckers – I don’t do those). That’s a heads-up for all you Tomio-memorabilia completist out there (which amount to basically, me)
At any rate, consider joining/checking them out if you’re in the area!
