I was excited, and then I was disappointed. A Miser Brothers’ Christmas is a sequel to the beloved classic 1974 special The Year Without a Santa Claus, one of my favorite holiday shows and is new for this holiday season. They still used the stop motion animation method of the original, but the classic storytelling is just not there in my option. The Year Without Santa Claus had no real villain, yet here we are introduced to the North Wind to do the part of evil doer. That along with the fact that Tinsel the Elf has nothing on either Jingle or Jangle. This show made my inner child cry a bit. Let the classics be classics and if you are going to introduce something new at Christmas let it be on its own merits. Mickey Rooney and George S. Irving reprise their roles, while the new Snow Miser is Juan Chioran, who does a fine job.
