A Muppets Christmas: Letters to Santa
Another night another Christmas special, but this is another new one for 2008 Anno Domini, which makes it worthwhile for me to talk about. I loved the Muppets as a child and it seems I love the muppets as a 30 year old. I really enjoyed Letters to Santa as I think it held on to the things that make the Muppets so cool. We have guest appearances from a TON of people, Michael Bloomberg, Nadine Ellis, Jane Krakowski, Uma Thurman, and many others. I had two favorite guest appearances though the first one by Bloomberg which occurs in the first scene that sets up the story and how he talks about how nice New Yorkers are, and the second one being Petra Němcová when she was wished into existance by Beaker using Dr. Honeydew’s wish granting machine. See things can be funny for the whole family. In case you have not already figured it out, the gang is all going on vacation and they are standing on line at the post office to send out their letters, when they end up with some letters that were meant for Santa. Some holiday cheer ensues and the Muppets realize that Christmas is bigger than their vacation plans. Maybe it was just me, or maybe my memory is already going in my 30s, but some of the voices of the Muppets just seem a tiny bit off. Not enough to ruin a good show though. Good addition to the list of Christmas specials on each year and with Statler and Waldorf making an appearance everything is good in Muppet land.
