John Scalzi just posted that he will be a creative consultant on the forthcoming Stargate: Universe television series.
Very cool news! I can’t say that I have ever been able to get involved with anything Stargate beyond the film (1994 – and I wouldn’t call that involved) but that probably speaks on the fact that the shows coming after were hitting at a time when I was at an age when television would not be a priority.
Best of luck to Scalzi, and you can kind of see it as the guy knows how to keep his SF stories moving. You can check on all the Scalzi content we have at BSC here. You can also check out my review of his The Ghost Brigades at the Bodhisattva.

I always wanted to get into Stargate but it looked a bit cheesy, but with no real good Sci Fi on maybe ill try a new series from Stargate.
I tried to watch Atlantis, but it looked silly. I’ve always liked the concept, just never grabbed me.
Realistically it won’t be here for me to watch for awhile.
