In 1970, I read the LOTR trilogy + The Hobbit for the first time. I enjoyed it so much that I promised myself that I would reread it occasionally and have averaged rereading it about every 10 years. What I have found interesting is the changes in my life have changed my perception of the story. The words have not changed, I have.

I'm surprised not more people took that route, it seemed obvious to me.

Interesting that so many people commented on the question's difficulty. That wasn't intentional: I just tried to think of a question that I though anyone could answer in an interesting way, without being tied too strongly to any one genre or role or expertise. And Rob, your answer was exactly the kind of answer I hoped to receive.

I love that we got real/genuine answers. It was a bit of pain to keep on people about it, but I feel like it sets a nice standard for the what come later.

I also like that I was able to get some of my comic book loving hommies in the house.

Val (Rob) came off angry to me!

Thinking about some of the other replies.
