Damon: See, that's the thing. The modern zombies _cannot_ be led. They cannot be used or channelled, they can only be unleashed, again like the plague or the atom bomb.

I do think, however, we would notice if we were all zombies. For one thing, there would be far fewer coffee bars, and a distinct shortage of "variety meats" at the butchers *VBG*

@Sarah, yes you are right, vampires, but I guess the new world order could also be Zombies right? Or would anyone even know it if we were all Zombies anyway? Who would the leader be, the one with the most amount of brains or flesh left.

Jay: Thanks. And thanks for giving me the space.

Damon: I'm okay with making your brain hurt, the question is are YOU okay with it? The point of the whole musings is that someway, somehow, zombies have become the horror show stand-in for all environmental disasters, including, but not limited to plagues and neuclear catastrophie. If you're talking commentary race and the New World Order, I think Vampires are being used for that (but more about them later.

Tom: Ah, Tom! Good to see you here. We can always count on you to interject some sobering reality into the conversation.

Rob: Pesky things, mammoths. And they shed like you would NOT believe.

As a dedicated maker and manager of a wide variety of zombies, I enthusiastically agree with Ms. Zettel's perspective. I will, however, point out that the desire for brainz™ in recent generations of zombies has more to do with self-image than physical maintenance. It's not that they need brainz™ to live; they need brainz™ to move up the, er, food chain of cinematic horror. One vampire, even one werewolf, let alone most humans, can outthink a horde of zombies any day of the week. The only successful strategy they have is banding together in such an imposing horde that their victims freak rather than running away -- nothing to count on for the long term. So a little cognitive balance would likely go a long way.

Welcome Sarah, is it ok that this made my brain hurt? So I watched I am legend for the first time, and it was ok, but then I was talking to someone about the book (which I have not read) and they said in the book the Zombies are actually the new order. I found that interesting. So are the current lazy stupid people like Zombies to the active really smart people?
