To start the day off we end up in New York City and I realize I have forgotten my one bag that has my PDA, my netbook, and my cell phone. Not a good way to start off at all. Apologies to everyone that I was supposed to get with today, I will make sure I do not make the same mistake again. So off to the press room we go. I am going to keep this short as I plan on writing up an article come Sunday, this is just a taste of what is to come. He-Man is back and we are greeted by Faker at the door.
Met a lot of nice authors as well as publicists from the major houses. What I found interesting today though is that there are publishing houses I have never heard of doing some real cool stuff. First off, did you know about the Disney Book Group? How about Quirk Books? I do now.
The one difference from last year was the amount of video game action on the floor. Sega was there in full force with lines around the isles for some of the game designers. The Wii was just friggin everywhere, at every booth, even Harper Collins was giving one away. Some really cool games coming out, DC Universe Online is sick, I have video I will share by Monday. Lots of FPS, but what really was nice was MadWorld for the Wii. It is something that is pretty different and it looks to work from what I briefly saw. The line to get autographs from the designer was super long so the hype factor is high.
Comic wise we saw a lot of things, but really did not fully dig in just yet to that part of the show. That is what Saturday is for. One thing of note for me is that Amelia Rules is now going to be part of Simon and Schuster. You do not know how happy that makes me as now I may actually get a review copy! Spoke to the guys over at Suvudu, talked fantasy with them and website design.
We are putting together a really nice contest package for after the con like we did last year– more on that tomorrow. Do not forget we will have two albums of pictures just like last year. After returning back to New Jersey we hit the dry sauna, the steam room, the hot tub, and swam a few laps over at Lifetime Fitness so its bed time now. Oh, an interesting note, I was offered rum in the press room by someone covering both the Travel Show and the Comic Con, hmmm…11:30 a.m. is a bit too early for rum, even for me.

Quirk books published the Swierzynski/Lapham Batman book I reviewed:

And the Sherlock Holmes/Watson book that I reviewed
Well I did not! Today going to be a rough day on the dogs.
