I am not as interested as I would be if it continued the storyline of ST. I mean it will be ok, but we know who dies, who doesnt etc… It is going to be a DVD or rental not a in the theater viewing for me I think.
If movies or fiction’s dramatic rate depends on who dies and who doesn’t we’d live in a sad world that would have no room for the overwhelming majority of comic books, books, movie, cartoons, or television shows.
I guess a little more insight on my thinking is we already know how the story is going to end up. For me there is not much excitement in those types of stories.
I saw the trailer at the theater when I went to see Quantum Bond movie. Of course, in the theater, the trailer was much more exciting. I loved Star Trek when I was a kid, and get a kick out of watching it whenever a station revives the old series.
Even though you know where the story ends up, I’d still like to know how it all got started.
I’ll see this in the theater to get the full visual & audio effect.

Absolutely. It’s Trek, and even though IMHO Trek has been nothing short of wack since early/middle DS9, you have to have faith in the Abrams.
