Jonah Hex is one of my favorite comic characters; from the ’70′s to the current series by Jimmy Palmiotti and Justin Gray (great one-shot style book, that just gets it). I was pumped when Brolin (No Country for Old Men credentials!) and Malkovich (no explanation needed) were cast!
I have to admit I’m not a huge fan of Westerns, but I have to admit that good Westerns have that odd habit of being top shelf movies, as if there is something naturally instinctive about the drama that we all – or want to – can relate to (even when we certainly can’t). It’s rather odd , as just about every novelist and film maker I enjoy without fail cite Westerns as a primary influence.
