News – Jericho television show continued in comics
Devil’s Due Publishing worked a deal with CBS Consumer Products to continue the story of the television show Jericho. While this may not be a new season or even a movie, I guess a little bit is better than nothing at all. It is being said that some of the creative team responsible for the show will be involved in the comics and for that and I am pretty excited. This was one of my favorite shows of all time, maybe after the comics we can have them turned into a movie? Well go out and buy the comics to make that happen.

Buffy comics is a pretty huge success, but I’m just not sure there are – and this is – a similar circumstance in the making.

I am really curious what they had in store for the end of the series. I think Buffy had that supernatural feel to it as well, which as I hate to say such a blanket statement, sells books.

Well, Buffy also has Whedon attached to it who is an excellent comic writer in his own right and I think was probably able to kind of blend sensibilities.
I’m not sure if supernatural elements necessarily is why any book sales, beyond that the Superhero market is traditionally the dominate one. There are plenty such books that don’t sell anything.
I just don’t know if Jericho has that kind of fanbase that has natural crossover appeal into this medium We will see though.

Jericho also has a movie in the works and I think the comic is a step towards creating more exposure for the movie. The latest aobut the movie was announced at WonderCon. You can see the clip on htis website and if you go to the ideo gallery you can see the whle announcement (at the end of the Harper’s Island Panel): http://www.jericho-kansas.org/wondercon/index.html
