Eisner award winning series The Umbrella Academy is set to be adapted to film by Universal Pictures. This series is written by My Chemical Romance frontman Gerard Way, and really proved itself to be beyond gimmick one would attach to such a project, and is actually a pretty damn good comic. The art by Gabriel Ba is simply incredible.
To direct, Universal has tabbed Mark Bomback. I’m not aware of any film that Bomback has directed previously, but he was a writer for the recent Race to Witch Mountain, Constantine, Live Free and Die Hard among others.
