Kick Ass looks kind of . . . KICK ASS

Full disclosure: I’ve never read the comic. So, no anticipation based off source material for me. Regarding the creators, I like some of Millar’s work, but there is an equal amount that I’m completely indifferent on, and Romita . . . well Romita goes through phases, but it doesn’t take away from the fact that the guy has been this generation’s Marvel artist, for like 2 generations now! So, mad respect for JRJR.

Matthew Vaughn, the man behind the movie adaptation is a beast though. He produced Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels, Snatch, and directed and produced Stardust and Layer Cake. Empire has revealed a pretty sweet image from the movie, featuring Chloe Moretz as the character Hit Girl/Mindy Macready.

kick-ass

Kick Ass is scheduled for a late 2009 release.
