If you want to talk about book series’ that I don’t give a damn about, this one is pretty high on the list, but for the simple vitriolic, comedic, joy it has brought the internet in making fun of it or simply being pissed off by it (I don’t really do either personally – I just silently don’t care for it, and move on) it’s actually better than simply being quiet and lame. In many ways Goodkind jokes have become the Fantasy-nerd’s ‘Chuck Norris’. For this reason I didn’t care to check out the TV show, Legend of the Seeker, but there is an interesting youtube video about storyboarding the show, and one on special effects.
Is that Kahlan in the very beginning holding it down?
Here is the special effects featurette –
What I find most distressing is that nobody told me the actress playing Kahlan had such a great personality:

BTW, that image is one image of a new batch in a gallery you check at the official site. I read that this got picked up for the second season. Anybody (except Damon, which counts as negative 2) willing to tell me they’ve crossed the line and it is good?
Or is it cheesy? We discussed it briefly in our forums a while back ago, but it never got updated I’m not one of those people that carry over dislike from one medium to the next, so if it’s hot I’ll give it a look.

The show added its own spin to the books, which have an enormous following btw, I enjoyed both the series and the show. It irritated the books die-hard fans because they took quite a bit of artistic license with the storyline. So since you didn’t care for the books, you’ll still probably enjoy the show.
