Fox – Dollhouse renewed

Rare geek victory as a potential culling of speculative TV are staring at the cutting block. It’s being reported that Fox has renewed Dollhouse. Despite of rumors that we might have seen the last of the show, it will see a Fall season with 13 episodes!

Whedon has expressed optimism over a second season, and I just hope we see unfiltered goodness! It’s semi-surprising from the outside looking in, as the rating of the final aired show was reportedly its lowest rated yet. For myself, I can’t see anything positive coming from a potential state of less Eliza Dushku. This news is being reported by THR, and we should receive something official on May 18th.

Earlier this week, I saw that the Dollhouse DVD details were released, but I felt weird posting it as possibly the last bit of Dollhouse news we’d see. Now that we know that is not the case, here they are (Blu Ray and DVD comes out July 29th):

Im not sure how I feel about it being renewed, for me the last few episodes were going more towards meh then great. That said though I still have one more episode on the DVR because I was away.

What I am hoping though is that I can trade Elena one Kings (/cry that it is probably not coming back) for one Dollhouse and I will not have to review it next year :)

Sure. I’m super-excited that DH got renewed so, since Harper’s is only temporary and if Kings finishes at all it’s not going to be at the same time, I’m more than willing to take Dollhouse off your hands. :)
