Disney is planning on remaking Flight of the Navigator. As I’m reading the article at THR I’m actually shocked that the first joint only made 17 million dollars – this was a damn classic for me when I was a kid! The basic gist is that a little kid (in this case a boy) is kidnapped by a UFO for several years and returns the same age, and with no memory of what occurred.
Brad Copeland (Arrested Development, Wild Hogs, My Name is Earl) is writing the screenplay. for me this is one of those ’80s movies in the mold of like Iron Eagle, Revenge of the Nerds, Jewel of the Nile, American Ninja, Back to the Future, Karate Kid, Goonies, Neverending Story, Red Dawn, Police Academy, The Last Starfighter and others that in the relative media isolated mind of an 80′s kids, you kind of thought were the greatest movies ever made (Hey, I still stand by a few of those!)
