Deadline Hollywood has announced the scoop on who will be playing the son of Odin, and it’s Chris Hemsworth. I certainly dig me some Thor, but I can’t say I’m familiar with Hemsworth’s previous work. He does look the part though, and scoring the role of one of the big III Avengers and being cast as the lead to Red Dawn is a hell of a year.
These casting decisions of the films based on Marvel characters that are under their own film umbrella (IE not Punisher, Spider-Man, Fantastic Four etc) are pretty big deals for fans due to the potential synergy of crossover we’ve seen and an Avengers film looming.
Most recently Hemsworth played Kirk’s father in Abram’s Star Trek.
