Showtime has released a 3+ minute featurette that shares some plot focus and clips to the upcoming 5th season (starting June 8th).
This seasons will introduce two new members of the cast, Jennifer Jason Leigh and Alanis Morissette. I have only seen the first 3 season and I have to admit that I enjoyed them (generally speaking I dig HBO original programming and Showtime . . . not so much). Just on premise of synopsis, I know many people that avoid this show – feeling they don’t (as adults) need to watch a TV version of How High or Half Baked or some other ‘stoner’ show. Personally, I like those movies, but this show is much more than those and is just a quality comedy/drama that happens to have bud involved (which from my experience – most shit does).
I do have to admit that this preview looks a bit outlandish. Did this show lose its ground, or is it still quality?

Yeah I never got into this show, but I think it was as you said because of the weed, when in reality the show is so much more. Most of the best stuff is on Showtime and HBO these days for me when it comes to adult programming that does not include an X in it. For that we have Cinemax
I think it strikes a good balance of being funny but not ridiculously so, and as a dram but not boring like Thirty something. Seeing this preview makes me wonder if this show has went too far with the former – but I’ll have to check it out.
Somehow I always expect more and get the same plot every week. She sells weed, she’s hot. And then what?
