The 2008 John W. Campbell Memorial Award Finalists have been named and it’s a pretty diverse list of nominees/books.
City at the End of Time by Greg Bear
Valley of Day-Glo by Nick Di Chario
Little Brother by Cory Doctorow
Song of Time by Ian MacLeod
The Philosopher’s Apprentice by James Morrow
Anathem by Neal Stephenson
The Awards will be presented during the Campbell Conference Awards Banquet held on July 9th-12th, at the University of Kansas.
What a great year for MacLeod’s Song of Time as it took home the Clarke Award earlier this year. Definitely congratulations to all of the the nominees, but did everybody else read some other version of Nick Harkaway’s The Gone-Away World that wasn’t clearly one of the best 3 SF novels of the year?
