The Science Fiction Hall of Fame has inducted 4 new members into its ranks. They includes two artists, an editor, and a writer.
This year’s class consists of Edward L. Ferman, Micheal Whelan, Frank R. Paul , and Connie Willis. You can get bios at the Empsfm site. BSC would like to congratulate all inductees.
I know others will talk Whelan, Willis, and Ferman, but as a pulp collector the name that strikes me the most is Paul’s. While there are names that always seem to headline collector’s want list (like a Brundage) Paul had some great covers. Not to mention we are talking about the cover artist for Marvel Comics#1.

It looks like Frank Wu has a sweet gallery of Paul’s work, and you just have to remember what Pull was putting images to. We are talking about the very foundation of SF when we talk pulps and I can only imagine how powerful cover images on magazines had to be as visual representations in that era.
