Guillermo del Toro talks about the forthcoming The Hobbit production conforming the schedule and touching on the landscape as it relates to what we saw in the adaptation of the trilogy. He also speaks on how his relationship with monsters go back to the crib.

The Hobbit will be two films and produced by Peter Jackson. They are hoping for late 2011 release for the first film and the second to follow a year after.

I’m positively fan-girl excited about this one. Del Toro can be trusted, I think, to handle both Smaug and Bilbo properly. I loved what he did with Prince Caspian. He seems to truly understand the fantastic and how to bring it to film.
Del Toro can do no wrong in my eyes. I also like that Jackson is overseeing it.
