HBO has offered a teaser for their forthcoming Bored to Death, a show about a struggling writer (and successful alcoholic) who decides to become a PI. We need to get somebody at BSC covering this when it hits.
Sounds pretty interesting especially when you read the piece that accompanied the announcement of the casting of Jason Schwartzman from last year:
Jason Schwartzman has been tapped as the lead in HBO’s comedy pilot “Bored to Death,” lifting the contingency on the project. The Jonathan Ames-penned “Bored” centers on Jonathan (Schwartzman), a struggling thirtysomething writer with a drinking problem in Brooklyn who, following a painful breakup with his girlfriend, decides to emulate his heroes from the novels of Raymond Chandler and Dashiell Hammett. “Bored” is one of two pilots greenlighted by new HBO entertainment president Sue Naegle; the other is the Alexander Payne-directed dark comedy “Hung,” which is casting the lead.
And you can’t have a show without Sam Malone! Bored to Death to death set to hit this September on HBO.
