Anytime some real slightly off role comes up, or is even in its initial stages of being a rumor, Depp’s name always seems to be attached. The guy is just an unusual combo of being able to go there and be a box office presence. My hope is such interest would draw Christopher Nolan back for a third film, as barring a very select (and unlikely) few, I don’t want to see anybody make the next Batman movie.
I have to admit that I am Depp fanboy. The guy is simply amazing (and from what some of my lady friends say still dreamy), and recently he talked to MTV while doing publicity for Public Enemies. When asked about the Riddler, and Batman 3 here said:
“If the opportunity came, I’d definitely juggle it,”
“I always liked the Riddler,”
“I always liked Frank Gorshin. Frank Gorshin was brilliant. I always thought he was a great actor.”
Coincidently his co-star in Public Enemies is the Dark Knight himself, Christian Bale.
