Madeline Zima joins Heroes

Damn, two Heroes cast updates and earlier I missed the far more interesting one. Let me correct myself now as Madeline Zima is also joining the cast of Heroes.

Zima will be playing Gretchen, described as “an edgy outsider and college roommate” for Hayden Panettiere’s Claire. She has previously been on Californication (Showtime) and The Nanny. I’m actually looking forward to Heroes because though this sounds like it would be obvious for all shows, I think we are going to get their very best shot because unlike some of those other shows, Heroes has/had obtained a level of success that made it look like it was going to be (and perhaps it was) a big deal (let’s not sleep, at some point Heroes was probably one of the most talked about shows).

I’m trying to stay upbeat because I think it’s a matter of recognizing the existing entertaining threads (and there are some) and exploiting them, and moving away from frankly writing bigger than what has been proven to be able to be executed (on this show).
