Mark Pellegrino – Supernatural’s Lucifier

The end of the last season of Supernatural was a cliffhanger that left the duo in a situation to about be confronted by a freed Lucifer, with Sam being played (by Heaven) to play a role in that unchaining. CW has announced that they’ve filled that role of Hell’s big dog with Mark Pellegrino.

You might know Pellegrino better as ‘Jacob’ from Lost or on Dexter. CW’s casting call reveals the character to be a ‘heavily recurring cast’, which also describes the character:

soft-spoken, strangely sympathetic, more vulnerable than evil and should have piercing eyes.

That’s Jacob all right! It is unknown how the cast effects Pellegrino’s role (if at all) in Lost–it would see we have flashbacks to be seen. Supernatural returns for its 5th season on CW on September 10th.

I enjoy Supernatural. Sure, I think it went a little to X-Files in that it fell in love with its own mythology and went away from just two brothers rolling around and putting the beat down on urban legends and myths, but it has recovered a bit.
