The Box has two things going for it. First, we know the source material is solid because it’s from a Richard Matheson short story (Button, Button). Second, it’s directed by Richard Kelly who brought us Donnie Darko, one of my favorite movies ever.
Besides being a Matheson short story, Button, Button was also a Twilight Zone episode (also written by Matheson-though he didn’t approve of the final representation, even using a pseudonym).
The Box stars Cameron Diaz, James Marsden, and Frank Langella. It has an October 30 release date.
