Based on the Philip K. Dick short story Adjustment Team, Adjustment Bureau is being directed by George Nolfi (The Bourne Ultimatum, Ocean’s Twelve, The Sentinel) and has Matt Damon cast as the male lead. Now it has been announced that Emily Blunt will be playing opposite of Damon.
The film synopsis as described by Variety is:
Damon will play a smooth-talking congressman whose political future is thrown in doubt by uncontrollable events and the arrival in his life of a mysterious ballerina, played by Blunt.
I actually like a lot of the PKD inspired adaptations. I’m not going to call all of them true to the stories (or even properly credited) but for the most part I tend to enjoy the movies, and hell we know some of them are absolute film classics.
You may remember that we posted that Emily Blunt was supposed to be in the Iron Man sequel, a role that subsequently went to Scarlett Johansson due to a scheduling conflict (perhaps because of Gulliver’s Travels). I’m actually a big fan, and you might have seen Blunt in My Summer of Love and Devil Wears Prada (though she’s in smaller roles in damn good films).
Adjustment Bureau begins filming in September.
