Kind of. Myspace debuted our first look at Jackie Earle Haley ( The Bad News Bears, Little Children, Watchmen,) who in April was cast to play the iconic role that Robert Englund made infamous.

I can’t say that I feel strongly in any direction. The truth is I’m not a particular fan of the franchise, which is more of a broader statement on my disinterest for that type of horror, more than it is for the quality and execution of that mode of horror to its existing fans. I do think Haley will be amazing regardless. Slash Film is reporting that we will get another image later today via IGN.
Along with Haley the film’s cast will include Kyle Gallner, Rooney Mara, Thomas Dekker, Kellan Lutz, Katie Cassidy, Connie Britton and Clancy Brown.
Set for an April 2010 release, A Nightmare on Elm Street will be directed by Samuel Bayer produced by Platinum Dunes, which consists of Michael Bay, Brad Fuller, and Andrew Form.
