Scarlett Johansson as the Black Widow

In the rush to be ‘first’ a bunch of sites ran some ghetto style low quality images of our first look at Scarlett Johansson in the upcoming Iron Man sequel. Since the issue would be out in hours I decided to hold out for some clearer images to show up.

As we noted in March Johansson was cast in the role after Emily Blunt (who we just posted about starring opposite of Matt Damon in Adjustment Bureau) could not assume the role due to a scheduling conflict. For me it was an obvious win-win situation.

Iron Man II is once again being directed by Jon Favreau and returns Robert Downey, Jr. and Gwyneth Paltrow while adding Don Cheadle (taking over the role that Terrence Howard played in the last film) and Mickey Rourke.

It will be released on May 7, 2010.
