We received these images from Warner Bros. yesterday highlighting Tricia Helfer’s character in the upcoming Green Lantern animated film, Green Lantern: First Flight. Back in in April we posted the trailer and behind the scenes feature for the DVD.

I would explain Boodikka to you, but honestly it’s a character that has gone through significant (visual) changes in her (relative) short history. They have kind of given her the ‘fine’ pill recently-which I’m actually a supporter of, which obviously suits the Helfer voices just right. I don’t need ugly Lanterns just saw I can call comics progressive! Helfer told MTV this about the character though:
“Boodikka’s a fighter, a protector,”
“She is very honorable in that she does what she thinks is right, even if some things go against the grain. She’s certainly not an evil character per se, but she does things that she thinks are good for society. She’s not really sexy in terms of her personality, so she’s not trying to reel Hal in — that relationship is more like comrades. So I wanted to play Boodikka both strong and sweet”
At any rate, I’m very much looking forward to this and I will be reviewing it at BSC. Green lantern has honestly been the most money major DC property in comic book form (quite simply, Geoff Johns is the damn man!) over the last several years, and I’m hoping they can transition that to a television/DVD audience.
Now all we have to do is get Helfer opposite of Reynolds in the live action.
