EW is reporting a shake-up in the third Twilight film (Eclipse) as Bryce Dallas Howard will be taking on the role of ‘Victoria’ after Twilight: New Moon.
Summit Entertainment is saying it’s due to a “scheduling conflict” with Barney’s Version, which looks like an interesting film with Rosamund Pike, Minnie Driver and Paul Giamatti in an adaptation of the Mordecai Richler novel.
Previously we reported that Xavier Samuel has been added to the cast of Eclipse.
The one possible interesting thing about Twilight is that David Slade is directing Eclipse, coming off of two movies that are at the very least interesting in Hard Candy and 30 Days of Night. Eclipse has a June 30, 2010 release date attached to it and is based on the third novel by Stephenie Meyer.
Scheduling conflict? This sounds fishy. Summit was able to work through this with other actors. I guess when your dad is Ron Howard you can walk in and get roles you don’t deserve. Summit has no loyalty. Just ask the first wolf pack from Twilight, Hardwicke and Lautner. Kristen watch out. Demi Moore could make a phone call and her kid could be the next Bella in Breaking Dawn…
This is totally rediculous! You can’t replace a major cast member like this in the final chapter of her character’s story! Rachelle has done a great job in Twilight, and from the looks of New Moon, it’s amazing as well. There has to be a way for them to work out whatever “scheduling problem” they may have. Sounds like they really don’t want to. I hope all this gets sorted out in the next week, as filming starts at the end of the month. I seriously may boycot the movie if they replace her. I HATE that when the cast doesn’t stay consistant. All hail the REAL Victoria…Rachelle Lefevre!!!!

I am spitting mad at Summit and their stupid decision to recast Lefevre. I will definitely boycott the third movie and do my best to influence others to that effect unless they rethink and rehire her. Lefevre is an outstanding actress who captures the essense of Victoria – she IS Victoria. What a rotten (and quite possibly politically motivated decision being the recast is Ron Howard’s kid – no matter how much she’s proven herself in other movies, she DID NOT originate Victoria and SHOULD NOT be given the plum role when the character is going to be highlighted – she DID NOT earn this!!!). I hope all the fans express their collective outrage regarding this disrepect toward us and to Lefevre. REHIRE Lefevre!!!!!
Dallas is the one that had the scheduling problem, she wasn’t around to play the role in the first 2 films! Lefevre was and she should be allowed to complete the character that she has created in the 3rd movie. You studio people are getting our money for these shows – the least you can do is work through a few scheduling conflicts.

Boycotting. I hate when this is done one TV shows. I depise it when it’s done on a blockbuster film that can afford to do it right (keeping the characters we have come to enjoy). I know many people will still go see this film but I know that there will be a significant drop in box office numbers. Remember who your audiance is Summit. Twilight fans!!! Show some respect and make something worthy of these books. Don’t treat us like mindless people who will plop down money with anything that is labeled Twilight. You can’t put a new actress in Victoria’s part. IT willl take something special away from the film and make us wonder what you will do next. At least I won’t be on the concrete freezing at midnight for the first showing.
BDH does not look like Victoria. It only took some red contacts to turn Rachelle into Victoria, with BDH,they had to change her appearance entirely. In my book, the last time we see the real Victoria is in new moon when she makes her escape into the sea.
