Finally looks like it’s moving. I can’t speak on the route, but at least Green Hornet is on the move. The actress told MTV, “I’m in”. In our own previous posts regarding the film, her casting has always been one I labeled as not confirmed (though some sites with perhaps superior insider info knew better enough to list her as such).
Diaz is set to play the role of Lenore “Casey” Case who MTV reports will be reimagined into a forensics-TV-show loving amateur sleuth who remains in the dark about Green Hornet’s true identity—and is smarting from a recent divorce. She also expressed excitement about participating in a Gondry helmed film:
“I am making Michel Gondry’s movie,” she said of the visionary director, who Diaz said is giving the 70-year-old character an extreme makeover. “I am very, very excited about it.”
Gondry directed one of my favorite films ever in Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind.
Recently we brought the word that Steven Chow’s replacement had been found for the the role of Kato (in the form of Jay Chou) which als included brief a run down of the creative changes involving the production of the film over the last several months. Diaz joins Chou, Seth Rogen, and Nicolas Cage in the Gondrey directed feature that’s set for a July 2010 release.
