You see Torres pop up quite a bit of television, but I’ll be damned if these characters weren’t immortalized in Firefly. TV Guide is reporting that we we will be able to see Torres on multiple occasions in CW’s upcoming season of Gossip Girl.
Torres will play the role of Gabriela Abrams, the “mother to home-schooled vid-kid Vanessa” (played by Jessica Szohr). In the report the character is described as:
She is a free spirit, a former Brooklynite who lives “off the grid” in Vermont and has definite opinions about things, especially concerning her daughter. Ah, that’s more like it.
She is set for 2 episodes in what is being described as a recurring role afterwards. Aside from Firefly and Serenity, Torres has bee involved in several projects like Alias, Fox’s Standoff, 24, the latter 2 Matrix films–and let’s not forget the voice of Vixen in JLU!
In previous Gossip Girl casting news, we reported that Hilary Duff would be appearing next season, along with noting that Tyra Banks and Sonic Youth would as well.
