I saw this yesterday over at /Film, and while usually anything Oriental Connection related gets on the fast track to BSC-postage, it’s been a busy at Imperial center. Now it’s time to make right with Marty. This is the Japanese poster for Shutter Island, the upcoming Martin Scorsese film based on the Dennis Lehane novel.

Looks kind of dope, but you saw how we do with my post from yesterday of a Japanese cover to Duane Swierczynski’s Severance Package. I definitely prefer this to the previous posters we’ve seen. We also got a trailer in June.
Shutter Island stars Leonardo Dicaprio Mark Ruffalo, Ben Kingsley, Michelle Williams, Max von Sydow, Patricia Clarkson, Emily Mortimer and Jackie Earle Haley.
Film Synopsis:
Shutter Island the story of two U.S. marshals, Teddy Daniels (DiCaprio) and Chuck Aule (Ruffalo), who are summoned to a remote and barren island off the cost of Massachusetts to investigate the mysterious disappearance of a murderess from the island’s fortress-like hospital for the criminally insane.
In related news, Nikki Finke has dropped the news that the film has now been moved back to a February 2010 release, and not the original October release previously announced. Apparently it’s an issue dealing with available money allocated to promote an award worthy film, and Dicaprio’s availability to particpate in promotion.
