Daphne’s betrayal puts Sam in a sacrificial predicament at the hands of Maryann and her zombie minions. Sookie is currently being held prisoner by the Fellowship of the Sun, while Bill is being detained at the hotel by an obsessive Lorena. After taking things too far with the Minister’s wife Sarah, Jason tries to sever his ties with the Fellowship of the Sun, however Steve and his lackey Gabe have other plans for Mr. Stackhouse. I have broken this episode down by setting to allow for review of each plot thread.
“Bon Temps”
Maryann tries to sacrifice Sam during an orgy festival being held at Sookie’s house, but she is thwarted by the appearance of Andy Bellefleur in a drunken rage. This distraction allows Sam to escape with Maryanne hot in pursuit, and it is only Sam’s shape changing ability that allows him to finally escape. Meanwhile, Lafayette is back in full glory and he has suspicions about Tara’s new boyfriend, Eggs.
Maryann has the town is utter chaos and I am wondering when this will start showing up on the local vampire radar. It would seem Maryann’s activities might present a problem for them since it could be seen by others as possible demonic or vampire activity. One thing is for sure, Andy is not fooled and he knows something is not right in Bon Temps, but nobody in town believes his ranting and raving about demonic happenings.
I can’t wait to see what is going to happen when the characters that are currently in Texas get back to Bon Temps. How Eric, Bill, Jason and Sookie will handle this town problem will be quite interesting. Will they be enough to stop Maryann?
“Texas”
All hell is breaking loose at the Fellowship of the Sun compound, Jason manages to escape Gabe’s clutches only to be caught by Sarah at gunpoint. The last thing we see is Jason being shot. An imprisoned Sookie discovers that Isabel’s human boyfriend Hugo is the traitor in the Texas vampire nest. Gabe arrives after his altercation with Jason, and after a struggle with both Hugo and Sookie, he attempts to rape Sookie, but is stopped by the missing vampire, Godric. The Fellowship of the Sun has a grand event planned and it involves the killing of a vampire. Steve and Sarah’s flock are gathering for the “lock-in” or church sleep over so they may witness the vampire killing at dawn. Back at the Hotel Eric overhears Barry deliver Sookie’s message to Bill, and in a flash he is gone and off to the Fellowship of the Sun’s compound.
What can I say? True Blood is building up to one good climax in two different cities, and I am on the edge of my coffin with glee. The events in Texas are out of control and could not seem to get any worse, but I am sure a vampire/human confrontation is on the way. I suspect it will not be a friendly get together either. Someone is most definitely going to die. The real question is who?
Is it Sunday yet?
