This is like epic fantasy fanboy fan people parade day. I don’t remember being this excited when even the Peter Jackson The Lord of the Rings films was being cast. Earlier today we already noted the castings of the Stark sisters, Jaime Lannister, and Daenereys Targaryen. This is the last group noted in the THR report.
Richard Madden, Iain Glen, & Alfie Allen have been chosen to fill the roles of Rob Stark, Ser Jorah Mormont, and Theon Greyjoy respectively. They nailed Mormont here with Glen. I mentioned Kingdom of Heaven in the post about Jaime’s cast, and you will see your Jorah there-he’s also very nice in Beautiful Creatures.
I don’t know anything about Madden, but I’m thinking the ladies are going to love this guy:
Alfie Allen, you sir have images online I never want to see again, but the clothed variety show a smugness that resembles Theon!
He’s in Atonement, a movie (based on the Ian McEwan novel) that had quite a few people in its cast, but I can’t say I remember him in particular. He’s the brother of singer/song writer Lily Allen whom (like GRRM apparently) I just found out existed!
Along with the announcements already noted above, we’ve previously reported the casting of of Sean Bean (Ned Stark) and Kit Harrington (Jon Snow) Harry Lloyd (Viserys) Jack Gleeson (Joffrey) Mark Addy (Robert), and Jennifer Ehle as Catelyn Stark.
