That makes for a powerful headline even though this has long been rumored (for instance /Film has a post on it from last year). You throw in that they brought in Farhad Safinia, the writer of Apocalypto (which I thought was O.G.), to write the script for one of the cornerstones of SF fiction by Aldous Huxley and you have one excited bibliophile.
THR tells us that both Scott and Dicaprio are producing the project and there remains the possibility of Leo starring in the film.
The last Scott/Dicaprio collaboration was Body of Lies, which was as terrible as you could imagine a film by that duo could be–but the two are as safe as you get it in my mind. Currently Scott is working on the Russell Crowe starring Robin Hood film, and Dicaprio is filming Inception (w/ Christopher Nolan), but nothing official and on the fast track seems to be standing in their way after that. All reports however, indicate we are talking about a project in its developmental phase. I do wonder what this does for the previously announced Ridley Scott/Forever War project as it was also announced last week he’d be returning to the Alien franchise.
For people who never read books until a new movie is made I highly recommend getting the edition that includes Brave New World Revisited (HarperCollins publisher an edition a few years ago). You can however read a copy for free online.
