I actually saw this awhile ago via Steph Song’s twitter account, but I was waiting for something more official. I’ve been apprehensive in just going with twitter sourced news after I noted something (coincidentally another Smallville related bit of news) that was later deleted disappeared. After a couple of days of no confirmation, I forgot about it, but just by chance I saw that it had been confirmed a couple of days ago by E! (via IGN).
Song will be playing the role of Roulette, which kind of through me for a loop only because I read (online at several sites, but none referencing more specifically) that she’s related to a Golden Age DC villain (her grandmother), and I tend to like to give a tidbit about early comic origins when possible (and if it’s applicable), but I have to admit that I have no familiarity with the original–the Tomio files have failed. The reports also adds that:
“I can tell you that I’ve seen [Song] in the famous Roulette dress, and I don’t think fans will be disappointed!” – Kelly Saunders, Smallville Producer
There was very little doubt of that from jump.
Earlier in the year we brought news that Monique Ganderton would be appearing in the next season, and more recently of a possible Wonder Twin duo via Allison Scagliotti and David Gallagher.
Smallville returns for its 9th season on Friday, September 25, 2009.
