ABC is saying that Steve Harvey, the comedian, is going to be joining the cast of Good Morning America for family and relationship topics. His first segment is scheduled to be broadcast on Wednesday. Steve Harvey was the star on The Steve Harvey Show which ran for a bunch of seasons on the WB network. He is currently in syndicated radio and his show is heard around the nation.
Of all the morning shows, I actually watch Good Morning America the most while getting ready for work (especially when football and basketball are not the hot topics on ESPN). I never thought that Harvey could really carry a show, but I always like his comedy injected into what I am watching if that makes sense. So my thought is that this will be a perfect fit, with Good Morning America getting a little bit of comedy while it allows Harvey to have a television gig again. Radio is great, but television is television.
