Earlier today we posted some images from forthcoming Cameron experience Avatar, that go nicely with the first look from earlier in the week. We now have what is perhaps the most anticipated trailer (as odd as that sounds) in some time: the public’s first look at Avatar.
Avatar – Theatrical Trailer
Film Synopsis:
AVATAR takes us to a spectacular new world beyond our imagination, where a reluctant hero embarks on a journey of redemption and discovery, as he leads a heroic battle to save a civilization. The film was first conceived by Cameron 14 years ago, when the means to realize his vision did not yet exist. Now, after four years of actual production work, AVATAR delivers a fully immersive cinematic experience of a new kind, where the revolutionary technology invented to make the film, disappears into the emotion of the characters and the sweep of the story.
Avatar is the forthcoming 3-D feature film produced, directed and written by James Cameron. Its cast includes Sam Worthington, Zoe Saldana, Sigourney Weaver, and Michelle Rodriguez.
It is scheduled for a December 18th release.

This looks pretty bland compared to what was promised. It is clear why there was a lot of Cameron bragging early on with no footage to back up his bogus claims. This looks more like a video game than film, and the same military equipment is repeated over and over again. My prediction is the biggest sci-fi disappointment since the Matrix sequels.
