May brought us our God of Thunder (Chris Hemsworth) and our Loki (Tom Hiddleston), and July gave us Natalie Potman to play Jane Foster, and now Marvel Studios has added two more to their cast in Jaimie Alexander and Colm Feore.
Alexander will play the role of Sif, described by THR as a skilled Asgardian warrior who can hold her own against any man. She also is one of Thor’s loves. Feore’s role remains unsaid, thought the report indicates a villain, and part of the script not being given to actors. Feore was in movies I like (that others people seem to don’t) like The Caveman’s Valentine, The Chronicles of Riddick, and also appeared in 24: Redemption (and 24) and a spot in Battlestar Galactica. The mystery around his role in Thor is great comic-nerd net fuel. Jaimie Alexander is Jessi XX on ABC’s Kyle XY. cant’ say I’m familair with te show, but she certainly looks like she can pull off a goddess.
Thor is going to be directed by Kenneth Branagh and will be released in the U.S. on May 20, 2011.
