Director and Screenwriter Richard Curtis will pen one episode of Doctor Who, the science fiction drama, for BBC. You may know Curtis from his writing credits on Bridget Jones’s Diary, Notting Hill, Love Actually and Four Weddings and a Funeral. He will be write one of the episodes with the new doctor, Matt Smith.
The way that he got involved is cool, being the cool parent that I am as well. Curtis who has three children said he signed up to write the episode to impress his kids. He made mention of that fact that it is a pleasure to watch television as a family and that Doctor Who is one of those shows you can watch together.
I think I really missed the boat on Doctor Who, and for that I kick myself. Every time I hear something about this show I ask myself why I am not watching. Damn, it might just be time to buy some DVDs. Based on past writings, the episode from Curtis should be pretty awesome. When someone is so interested in a show to go out of their way to write for it you gotta have a good feeling.
