Synergy is back! This is the fourth installment of the feature, and the first under my dictatorship as BSC’s editrix. If you haven’t seen this column before, the basic idea is that we put the same question to a variety of professionals (and sometimes amateurs) who interest us to create a plateful of amuse bouche interviews. This time around we took the question straight to some of the hottest names in horror, comics, urban fantasy, and more.
The question? What was your favorite scary story as a kid? The answer could be anything from an urban legend to “vampires” to a specific book or movie or comic. Anything at all…as long as it was something especially striking to you….
Respondents range from bestselling writers like Charlaine Harris and Carrie Vaughn, to grand masters like Joe R. Lansdale and Brian Lumley, to noir/crime writers like Jimmy Palmiotti and Charlie Huston, and more. If you missed our previous installments of Synergy, go check them out.
If you’ve already read those, take the jump and read our latest!

Although music doesn’t necessarily fall under the purview of this site, one should never miss a chance to heap scorn on Creed. After seven long years, Creed rejoins for Full Circle, and the results are predictably awful, often in unique ways.

Alan DeNiro is back with more from San Jose and the World Fantasy Convention. As he put it, there will be some space-time discontinuum in this post, because it will include a few pictures from a distant time known as…yesterday…as he reflects on a couple different panels and sundry other items.

Since both sets were rather small, I’ve collected promo images from FX for the next 2 episodes of It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia, “Paddy’s Pub: Home of the Original Kitten Mittens” (November 5th) and “Mac and Dennis Break Up” (November 12th).

Unlike for Fringe this week, there are a ton of images for the November 18 episode of Glee, called “Ballad”. Seems like Glee has been picking up steam through this month, including the announcement that Joss Whedon would be directing a future episode.

The big news from Bones (a show that BSC has been following/reviewing this season)this week was the announcement that Emily Deschanel would be joined by her sister, Zooey, on the show via a guest appearance. There are episodes leading up to that December show, and fresh from Fox, BSC has some promo images to the November 19th episode “The Foot in the Foreclosure”.

We have a small batch of promo photos from Fox for the November 18th episode of Fringe. I’d expect more to be released soon as this is a small release. The episode is called “August”.

The latest episode of Disney’s paranormal comedy for the tween set, “Three Monsters,” is the second of a three-part story in which Moises Arias of Hannah Montana guest stars as Max’s conscience, a tough job, at that. I must admit I was impressed with this young actor as he moved from his extremely annoying HM role, Rico – who is rather humorous, especially when he is paired with Jason Earles (Jackson) – to one where he attempts to rein in someone who bears Rico-like tendencies.

How I Met Your Mother has been collecting some great casting announcement material lately. We are talking Rachel Bilson, Chris Elliot, and Tim Gunn. We…
Pretty long clip from next week’s (November 5th) episode of Supernatural, titled “Changing Channels”. This episode brings back The Trickster, played by Richard Speight Jr. (Jericho, Band of Brothers), a character we’ve seen previously on the show.
