Green Lantern – Jackie Earle Haley as Sinestro? The Last Son of Krypton?
The big man at AICN is dropping some news that would simply be filed under incredulous if it didn’t come from this particular source. It involves the Green Lantern film starring Ryan Reynolds, the possible cast of Sinestro and a special guest appearance.

Please note that Harry Knowles has labeled this as “most awesome – pretty reliable – rumor of the day. I’m putting this in the caveat as a rumor – as opposed to a rock solid, take it to the bank story”. True or not, it makes so much sense I can’t believe it. I can easily buy the casting of Jackie Earle Haley–and he’d kill in that roll. As it is, Sinestro speculation in comics has been going through the roof with his first appearance already (Green Lantern#7 for all the losers who don’t collect Silver Age DC comic) has had a healthy rise, and almost impossible to find in HG for prices we saw even 6 months ago. Jackie Earle Haley has been busy in high profile films with projects like Shutter Island, Watchmen and A Nightmare on Elm Street.
The other part of the new is what I find most sensible unlikely, yet most exciting! Knowles suggests that his source tells him that we may see a cameo by Superman (note: not Ruth specifically). Now to the fan this makes perfect sense and wonders why (unless there are deals in place with other studios dealing with character rights) you wouldn’t see this type of play at synergy.
Rumors, but fun rumors indeed!
