I figure that this might be relevant to our SF base. The first time I read about the possibility of a rumor (yes, a possibility of a rumor) that Twilight’s Robert Pattinson would have a role in a new Peter Berg Dune film was one I first saw around the web in May when the actor was seen meeting with the director which is a rather ridiculous considering the many possibilities that such a meeting could entail, considering Berg’s schedule and that one would assume Pattinson is not hard up for work.
Gossip Cop is reporting that a source has told them that while Berg is still certainly very much looking at a new Dune film, Pattinson is not himself attached. Berg, the directors of films like Friday Night Lights, The Kingdom, The Rundown and Hancock seems to have busy schedule with sequel of Hancock already running (with the actors confirmed to return) and Battleship, based on the game. The board game. I’m not sure if it could be done any better than a recent Colbert/Goldblum dramatization.

Thank the Maker! I love Rob as much as the next girl, but when I read this rumor I clutched my copy of Dune and wept.
