Zoe Saldana – first look at The Losers

Well, to begin with, The Losers is a sweet comic. Even before the Diggle/Jock Vertigo run, I’m a huge fan of DC war in general and love the old DC War books, many of which had sweet art from the likes of Joe Kubert, Russ Heath and John Severin. In April of 2010 we are set to get a film adaptation of the comic. Among the cast is Zoe Saldana, and via EW we get our first look at her as ‘Aisha’.

It should be noted that the film is based on the aforementioned Vertigo run. In the report the role of Aisha is described as:

a mysterious Middle-Eastern hellion

…and of Saldana, Diggle says:

“Aisha has to be deadly and desirable in equal measure, and Zoe embodies both qualities in spades.

Most people will recognize Saldana from Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl and in this year’s Star Trek film, as Uhura. She’s also going to be in James Cameron’s Avatar.

With Saldana, The Losers stars Jeffrey Dean Morgan, Idris Elba, Columbus Short, Chris Evans, Oscar Jaenada and Jason Patric.
