Dexter knows it’s only a matter of time before Miami Metro discovers the Trinity Killer’s latest handiwork. Therefore, he has to work doubly hard to stay one step ahead of their investigation. Dexter has begun to realize that the closer he gets to Trinity, the more he stands to learn from this very different beast. Trinity hides behind a well-kept mask, and getting behind that facade will require some extra prodding on Dexter’s part. Meanwhile, Debra becomes frustrated when she finds herself shut out from her own case. She considers bending the rules in the name of justice, risking her career in the process. LaGuerta and Batista come to regret a major decision and realize that by playing by the rules they may have painted themselves into a corner. And when the friction between Rita and Dexter comes to a head, Dexter gleans relationship advice from a most unlikely source.
Dexter realizes that Trinity is far more elusive than he first thought. He is a serial killer hiding in plain sight, and Dexter is amazed at his daring and skill. This episode was a bit grating when it focused on Rita’s need for Dexter’s affection and the office romance between LaGuerta and Batista, who all act like teenagers in love. Debra is back to her usual blundering around and hunting for serial killers much to Dexter’s annoyance. The last thing he wants is Debra bumping into Trinity and becoming one of his victims again. When Dexter begins his observation of Trinity in his natural element, the real fun begins. My favorite scene is when Dexter holds the ashes of Trinity’s dead sister in an attempt to draw the monster from his cave. The ploy works, and we see Trinity partially unmask in front of Dexter. I am on the edge of my seat each time Dexter goes to visit his new friend Trinity. The amazing part of this episode is that Dexter gets relationship advice from Trinity, and in true Dexter fashion he uses it in a counseling session with Rita. As this episode draws to a close, Dexter and Rita have made up, and he also gets a new man-cave for his Dark Passenger to “hang out” in.
After viewing this episode of Dexter, I have come to realization that Rita is very annoying; perhaps Dexter should kill her and spare us all. Since that is not going to happen, I will elect Quinn as the next most annoying character this season, and let us hope he crosses Dexter’s “Code” in the near future. Despite all the annoying characters and the lack of Dexter’s recreational hunts, Trnity’s presence coupled with Dexter’s obsession over him makes for one awesome hour of television. I am a bit mixed still on how this season compares against previous seasons, but I will find out as it draws closer to its close.

I love Hammer Horror. Been a big fan since I was a kid. My bro and I loved the Dracula and Frankenstein movies. I highly recommend some of the more obscure vampire titles such as Vampire Circus, Twins of Evil, and Kiss of the Vampire. They are very enjoyable movies and shouldn’t be missed by Hammer fans even though they don’t star Cushing and Lee.
