Well first CBS decided to cut the amount of Numb3rs episodes for this season from 22 to 16. That usually is not a good sign at all for a network show, and it looks to be the setup that the sixth season of the show will be its last. That does not mean that everything is all bad though. What is the number one gripe of television watchers when their show gets cancelled?
That is right for all those yelling at the screen, it is closure. Well it seems that CBS is taking that into account. Ausiello is reporting that co-creator Cheryl Heuton said that “We will be doing a 16th episode that wraps up storylines and answers questions.” The episode will be able to serve as a finale, but if they do get renewed allows them to continue working.
I am not a huge Numb3rs fan, but I give thumbs up to CBS for doing the right thing and allowing some sort of closure if they do cancel the show.

i hope they dont cancel numbers i love this show have been a true fan since it first aired and would be really disappointed if it gets cancelled but i am at least happy they gave it a pretty good ending if by chance its not renewed. the only part i didnt like was that you dont get to see don get married i would like to see that, and larry find another love after meghan you dont really see him fall for anyone. i hope theres another season
I am so terribly sad that it is over! Please please renew! This show is one of the best programs I have ever, ever, ever seen.
I kept flipping the remote and coming up with very few pieces that showed some thought, plot, writing, acting…most of what I saw was pandering to the lowest common denominator…Until a show like this one popped up…and now they want to cancel? Please say it isn’t so!
A bad call all around. It was moved to a weak night on prime-time. Perhaps a move to Summer or to a particularly weak evening time slot would have been a better choice. If you recall the show used to be more ‘Mathy’ and a little bit more technical. I think another season needs to be issued here and a slow return to the roots are key. A finer balance between character development and initial premise is key.
I urge the network to allow a 7th season.
