What the hell happened to Meredith! She was like a MAIN character! Help! Bring back Meredith! Bring back Meredith! Bring back Meredith! ……Does anyone even know WHY they got rid of her?!? Damn, she was my favorite character!! GRRRRRRR!!!

Once I came to terms with the fact that so much was changed from the books, which I read when they were FIRST published, I also appreciated that now everything was new and a surprise. BUT I will NOT be happy if they dare make Alaric a vampire. I’m hoping it’s just a tease, bait and switch.

I miss Meredith, too, but I realized they kind of turned ELENA into Meredith. Dark, level-headed, and unselfish.

I thought this episode had great dialogue and small interactions, like when Bonnie tries to explain to Caroline that she doesn’t let her in on everything because she never listens, and all the back and forth between Damon and Stefan.

Also I thought this episode had great music – loved hearing Pablo Sebastian’s “Lies” during the scene when Bonnie and Elena are in the car and then Bonnie throws away the crystal, as well as Great Northern’s “Houses” which played when Jenna and Alaric talk at the Mystic Grill. in one of the vampire diaries books – stefan does leave for a bit…so it’s just the tv show trying to use elements from the book…what is wrong with that?! This once again proves how much Stephenie Meyer ripped of the vampire diaries….although, Angel left Buffy aswell – once again proving how that storyline is not unique to new moon.
Anyways, it sounds good although ~Alaric going with Jenna is just weird – what about Meredith? Will she even come into this show????

Judging from the promo video for this week’s episode, Stefan will not be leaving and he and Elena sure as hell are getting hooked up!

I’m hoping too that Meredith will show up eventually. I had major “Meredith-pangs” during the scene where Bonnie revealed her witchy powers to Elena and the séance! I don’t care at all if she doesn’t end up with Alaric or if they make her a vampire hunter (heh, why not?), I just hope they keep their promise and they will bring her on later. The show is really really missing the so-cool level-headed Meredith.

I don’t think Alaric is a vampire. They want to have us believe he’s one in this episode but he just can’t be. I’m guessing too his wife got killed by a vampire, and maybe his father was a vampire hunter or something.

And thank goodness, Matt/Caroline have taken the route I was hoping they would i.e. nothing romantic.

About Katherine, I’m thinking perhaps she really still hasn’t been resurrected yet – I’d be thrilled if otherwise though. But Damon will definitely not stop at that, he’ll think up something, I’m sure.
